WHO
Benny Allen has collaborated with acclaimed bee-ducator Helen Charles, to record an album of bee themed songs for children.
“Helen is so passionate about educating people about bees, sustainability and the environment, that it can’t help but rub off”, Benny said.
“Having the opportunity to record some well known songs, as well as write with Helen has made this the most exciting project I’ve been involved with to date”.

As the founder of environmental education business Friends with honey, Helen has provided workshops on Bee Education, Citizen Science, Pollination and Biodiversity to Pre-Schools, Schools, Councils and Community Groups.
Helen's passion for bees spreads to all around her.

Benny Allen has spent the last few years carving a path as an award winning singer/songwriter in the Australian Country Music scene.
The transition to children's entertainer has come naturally, and Benny has embraced the opportunity to create songs which will not only provide an education relating to bees and their importance in the world around us, but will also provide exposure to multiple styles of music.

WHAT
The Friends With Honey Musical Kids Show has continued to evolve.
Initially, Helen and Benny set out to create an album of songs that would complement Helen's pre-school incursion programs.
This quickly grew to include a live action musical stage show, aimed at increasing the knowledge of children and their parents about the importance of bees in the world around us. Through inclusive singing and dancing, the show has proven to be an engaging way to connect the central themes.
Pre-production is now under way for the Friends With Honey Musical Kids show animated series, which will feature short episodes of Benny and Helen's adventures, with each episode including an educational message along with an associated song which helps to reinforce the theme of the show.

WHY
When most of us think of bees, we think of honey. But we often don't think about the vital role bees play in our food security.
One in three bites of our food is brought to us by hard working pollinators like bees, butterflies, beetles, bees, bats, and birds that pollinate plants.
By educating our children about the relationship between food and our pollinators, we can ensure that they become the next generation of custodians for the vital components of our environmental ecosystems.
